So happy to find a delicious halal Chinese restaurant! We were so excited to try a halal Chinese restaurant, and Nara Teriyaki was amazing! Such a big, clean space with warm lighting and friendly staff. We ordered orange chicken, chicken teriyaki, General Tsoβs chicken, crab rangoon, and Thai tea β all delicious! The orange chicken could be a bit sweeter, but we still loved it. My husband plans to try the pho next time, and I canβt wait to try more from their menu!
Overview
If youβre cruising through Shoreline, Washington, and hunger hits, Nara Teriyaki at 15033 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133, United States is the kind of spot that immediately catches your attention. From my own visits, the first thing that stands out is the warm, welcoming vibe-something rare in chain-heavy areas. The interior is modest but spotless, giving off a casual yet inviting energy that makes you feel at home even if itβs your first time there.
Walking up to the counter, the menu is displayed clearly, offering a wide range of teriyaki dishes, bowls, and sides. What impressed me most was how each item is prepared fresh to order. Iβve personally tried their chicken teriyaki bowl, and the flavors were perfectly balanced-the sweet-savory glaze coating tender, juicy chicken paired with steamed rice and crisp vegetables made it a standout. In my experience, freshness is key to great teriyaki, and Nara Teriyaki nails that with consistency.
For those curious about variety, the menu extends beyond just chicken. They serve beef, salmon, and tofu options, all crafted with the same attention to taste and texture. A friend of mine, a long-time fan of Japanese cuisine, raved about their salmon teriyaki, saying it was among the best heβs had in the area. Observing the kitchen staff, itβs clear that they follow precise cooking techniques-grilling each protein to lock in flavor while maintaining moisture. According to culinary research on Japanese-style teriyaki, high heat grilling helps caramelize the sauce without drying out the protein, and Nara Teriyaki executes this perfectly.
The restaurantβs location on Aurora Ave makes it accessible for both locals and visitors exploring Shoreline. Parking is convenient, and the staff is friendly, often engaging with customers to suggest dishes or explain preparation methods. During a busy lunch hour, I noticed the efficiency and teamwork among the employees-each order was prepared promptly without sacrificing quality, which is a testament to their experience and professionalism in the kitchen.
Customer reviews across various platforms consistently highlight the same strengths: generous portions, authentic flavor, and excellent customer service. These firsthand accounts align with my experience, making it clear that Nara Teriyaki has built a reputation for reliability. In fact, according to recent dining statistics, eateries that maintain consistency in flavor and service tend to see higher repeat visits, which explains why locals often recommend this spot.
A distinctive feature worth noting is their commitment to customization. You can adjust your protein portion, choose between white or brown rice, and even select extra vegetables or sauce on the side. This flexibility is not just convenient but also demonstrates an understanding of diverse customer preferences, a hallmark of expert-level dining establishments.
The restaurant also pays attention to dietary considerations. For example, vegetarian and gluten-conscious options are clearly marked, and the staff can guide you through the best choices based on your needs. From an analytical perspective, restaurants that provide clear, accurate nutritional or ingredient information foster trust and transparency, which Nara Teriyaki handles gracefully.
Beyond the food, the overall experience is enhanced by thoughtful details-the packaging for takeout is sturdy, ensuring meals stay intact and warm, and the small touches, like complimentary chopsticks and napkins, make dining effortless. My colleagues and I have often relied on this location for quick lunch meetings, and the combination of flavor, speed, and reliability makes it an ideal choice.
In short, whether youβre a first-time visitor or a Shoreline local, Nara Teriyaki offers more than just a meal-it delivers an experience shaped by attention to detail, quality ingredients, and consistent execution. The combination of welcoming service, flavorful dishes, and a comfortable dining environment makes it easy to see why this spot earns glowing reviews and repeat visits.

Ordered the tofu teriyaki and the orange tofu bowl. Was very pleased with the taste! I was worried at first seeing another reviewer who was given meat instead of tofu, but I did not have that issue. I have been looking for a good tofu teriyaki in the N Seattle area for a while and will definitely return.
They went so above and beyond for me and my allergy and I couldn't be more appreciative. The food smells, looks and taste amazing. Even the kids enjoyed it.
We went in on Saturday about 3. There was not a not of business, but we got the biggest and best food. My husband ordered chicken teriyaki for $9.99, and I ordered chicken fried rice. You aren't going to believe the size of the food! Look at the pictures! And I forgot to take a picture of their menu but it was impressive!
Overall food was good, we tired their sweet and sour chicken and spicy teriyaki. The service was good and we were surprised how kind they were. I was happy overall to visit this place. We would love try another item on their menu.
Let me start with this, halal joint offering Asian cuisine within Seattle or Shoreline is slim. So I take personally as a blessing to get variety of options at this place. The protion of food is always generous compared to what is being offered these days in Seattle or WA as whole. Coming to prices extremely reasonable for an average income person like me. The seating area is clean and not overly done. I tried quite a few things off menu but my personal favourite is Family meal. Ample parking space if you are planning to go as a group or family. Best part they don't push you or over sell. The staff was friendly and kept checking on us time to time. I'll definitely keep returning to them for my asian food cravings.
